I think something must be working against me in an attempt to prevent me from doing NaBloPoMo. And succeeding, since I haven't posted in a few days. After a short blackout on Friday, the computer wouldn't turn back on. We suspect the power supply shorted out, and it was a very old computer (5 years-ish), so it wasn't unexpected. We considered replacing the power supply, but they were around $100. So we figured it wasn't worth it to spend $100 on a computer that was pretty crappy and would probably give out in a year. And I was in the market for a new computer anyway. So I couldn't blog until now. And we have a new computer!
It's pretty sweet, as far as "inexpensive" desktops go. With a new monitor and graphics card, I think this will be a pretty bad-ass computer for games and all sorts of things. Those things aren't necessary yet (though, this monitor is around 8 years old) so we'll wait on those for a bit. After all, we ended up spending around $1000 since Thursday on unexpected expenses - can't forget those tires - so we probably shouldn't spend any more for a while. Maybe we'll count this computer as an early Christmas present to each other. I should really finish up my job applications...
