It's a New Year!

Happy New Year! I'm hoping this year sees me healthy, successful, and happy! It's been a while since I posted (so much for NaBloPoMo, huh?), so lots have been happening, in a mellow sort of way. Lots of holiday parties, my mother-in-law came to visit, I finished up my Fall classes, and I'm about to start a new quarter. My interest in knitting has been jumpstarted again, due mostly to a hefty amount of Christmas money that came our way. I finally bought my KnitPicks Options Needles (which should have been my birthday present 8 months ago), and got a nice big start to my yarn stash. I feel a little guilty that I didn't put that money away for expenses, but I owed myself those needles, and we really needed a little spending pick-me-up. I'll try to make up for it by being strict about spending this month, especially about food. It'll help me recover from the holidays too.

That brings me to this year's resolutions. I have a history of not keeping these, so I tried to come up with ones that are a little more reasonable, but will still have a solid impact on my life. In no particular order:

~ Eat at home more often, and to eat out only once or twice a week.

~ Lose at least 2 inches around the middle (weight doesn't matter to me as much as how my clothes fit)

~ Continue to get good grades for the following quarters.

~ Work on a craft at least once a week (but keep my yarn addiction in check!)

~ Get a part-time job

~ Exercise at least half an hour 3 times a week

~ Be less impulsive with money

I hope to have a good fitness routine down pat by the end of the month, once I'm used to the work load from classes. Also, I really have to get on job applications. I think I'll make a deadline. 3 applications sent in by January 9. That gives me a week to finish off my applications! I really want to get into a nice pace of activity so I don't slack off on anything and get lazy. I've been really pretty sedentary these past 3 weeks, and I'm hoping I can shake it off and approach school and all those other things I need to do with renewed vigor. Here's hoping!
